The purpose of the Officers' Spouses Club is to promote good will, friendship and cultural opportunity, and to provide a social setting for its members. OSC also raises funds for charitable purposes that primarily benefit military personnel and their families.
The Officers' Spouses Club (OSC) is proud to be part of MCAS Cherry Point, home of the Second Marine Air Wing. The Cherry Point Officers' Spouses Club was founded in the early 1950's as the Officer's Wives Club. The OWC's original function was a social club with amazing traditions and connections. Over the years, the OSC has grown with the evolving spousal role in today's military family. Our MCAS Cherry Point Officers' Spouses Club currently takes an active role aboard the base and in the community. The primary focus of the "Club" has become charitable over the past decade. The current members are comprised of hard-working and dedicated volunteers who selflessly donate time and energy to raise money for their community and their Marines.
Our organization raises money in two ways: 1. Revenue produced at the Whistle Stop Thrift Shop and Treasures of the Point Gift Shoppe: All of the workers at the Whistle Stop and Treasures of the Point Gift Shoppe are volunteers selflessly giving of their time and talents. 2. Fund raisers: Each year the club has two major fundraisers. All proceeds from the fundraisers are added to the assistance fund. The money generated through fundraising is filtered back into the Cherry Point community either through scholarship or financial assistance.
